Ask the Stars: City Architecture
This post is part of oracle rolls for my shounen Fate accelerated game. Here I'm asking the Ask the Stars oracle (by Chris McDowall) the about the architecture of the city where I'll start my adventure. The big value of this kind of post is to see how other player (me) interpret and uses one abstract oracle for complex questions.
My question to the stars was
"how is the architecture of the Foundation city?"
Quite a complex question for an oracle, right? Let's see the results.
Check out the d12s:
10 (the fleet)this one is all about the journey, the pilgrimage, the middle. Okay, next.
7(colliding:change/violence)
This one is in the position column and works as a modifier for the symbol one. It's (also) about what only exists because of conflict, confrontation.
"The path that was born from the crash."
What could it possibly mean?
For me it meant this:
Foundation was an established city already when part of the angel-machine city up the mountain falled down over it. In the ruins born from the earthquake a new place was born. Strange narrow streets and a strange new time. Angel, machine and Men.
Like if the spirit of the city was forever altered by an unpredictable force of nature. It's half past, half eternity. Half holy, half sinner.
Part of it's people feel a sour nostalgia from the "old days". And a lot more celebrate the angel tech it can access only now.
It's not exactly easy to interpret this outputs, but McDowall wrote two blog posts explaining output by output (with examples). Very interesting and useful once you get used to the abstraction.
